James Van Der Beek and his girlfriend, business consultant Kimberly Brook, are expecting their first child, the actor, 33, announced on Twitter Friday.

"Yes, it's true – the woman I love and I are expecting our first child," he wrote. "Currently experiencing joy on levels I never knew existed."

James Van Der Beek confirmed he and girlfriend Kimberly Brook are gearing up to be parents.
“Yes, it’s true - the woman I love and I are expecting our first child,” James wrote on his Twitter page on Friday afternoon.
The star, who as a 20-something played Dawson Leery on the hit WB series, “Dawson’s Creek,” said he is overwhelmed by his baby news.
“currently experiencing joy on levels I never knew existed,” he added.
James, 33, met Kimberly, who is a business consultant, last July, according to People.
Just last month, James and Heather McComb finalized the terms of their divorce after nearly seven years of marriage. Their divorce becomes official on June 3.
According to court paperwork obtained by the Associated Press, James and Heather separated months before he officially filed for divorce in November 2009.
